Our “Puppies on the Move” Program is a program that transports puppies from San Felipe to sister shelters in the States to find forever homes. Marianne at El Cajon Dog and Cat Rescue is a tremendous supporter and has received countless San Felipe puppies into her adoption network. This is a story of one of those puppies that found a forever home through this program. Todd Toback writes to VIVA.
“This is Todd Toback. We adopted Teri back in September. First and foremost, I want to say THANK YOU for being a foster mom to Teri. We absolutely LOVE her. We lost our family dog of 10 years in August to lymphoma and we were not emotionally ready for another dog until our family saw this little pooch begging to be taken from the adoption center in front of Petco.
We live on a 1/2 acre with a giant hill. She spends her day running up and down exploring the property, basking in the sun while cuddled up in our wine barrels, and hanging out with our family of my wife and 4 kids. She can be a handful, but we absolutely love her. She attached herself to our family so fast and has made a hobby of terrorizing our two cats. P.S. They need the exercise :-).
I also run with her about 3 times a week and she is completely spoiled. She gets premium dog food and gets to sleep in our bed. Also, our kids love to train her and she responds well to them. She is the most affectionate dog I have ever met.”
