No Cost Spay Neuter Clinics Save Lives
In November of this year, Pawsitive Purrposes sponsored a no-cost spay neuter clinic in the Valle de Guadalupe, Mexico's wine region just inland from Ensenada. Independent dog rescuers from the Valle de Guadalupe, Ensenada, La Misión, and Tecate brought their rescues that were ready for the procedure. The local El Porvenir Police Station loaned PP a community room next door for the day. Twenty six dogs were lovingly tended to by the talented vet team from Veterinaria California.
Preparing Them for Pet Adoption
During post-op and recovery, Pawsitive Purrposes gave the dogs a little spa treatment; cleaning their ears, combing their fur, clipping nails, and keeping them warm until they woke up from the anesthesia. Spay neuter clinics often represent the last step before a dog is able to be put up for adoption. Several dogs that were fixed that day have already been adopted by loving families in the United States! With what a spay-neuter surgery costs at vet offices, by offering a no-cost clinic to rescuers we know we are helping them get their dog rescues through the final stage, making it easier to get their newly fixed dogs their forever families, and create a open space for them to rescue the next dog in need.
When you adopt through Pawsitive Purrposes, part of the adoption fee goes to cover important events like this!
